Origins: Best Of Both Worlds REVIEW

Origins Skincare: Best Of Both Worlds

If you follow me on social media, you probably already know my birthday was this past weekend. My husband completely spoiled me and this Origins Skincare Set was one of my gifts. I was so estatic to see that he had listened to my many hints and bought this baby! I have never tried Origins before but have always eyed it everytime I'd go into my local department store or Sephora.

Now as you might already know, Origins isn't the cheapest skincare out there. In fact, its a little pricy. However, in this set you really get "bang for your buck." This set is $51 before tax. Lets take a little closer look at what exactly you get...

The first product I'm going to talk about is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. This mask is specifically formulated to hydrate your skin as you sleep at night, leaving you with a healthy glow in the morning. I absolutely love to use products similiar to this. It is so effortless and easy!

The size of this product is rather generous too! The full size (1.7 fl oz) sold separately costs $17.00 USD. The size you recieve in this kit is FULL SIZE another plus!

Next, this High-Profenicy Night-A-Mins Mineral Enriched Renewal Cream is great for moisturizing your face at night. The consistency of this face cream is rather thick and luxiourous on the skin. I used this product on a day my face was breaking out; woke up the next day and the redness and puffiness was significantly reduced. I have to say, this product is one of my favorites in the set. Bought alone, this product retails for $41.00 USD. The product you get in the kit is FULL SIZE!

The Gin-zing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer is absolutely perfect for a light weight, everyday moisturizer. This product is perfect underneath your foundation or even on those no-makeup days. This product has a pretty strong citrus scent. However, the citrus scent is pleasant and does not linger on the skin. The full size product sold alone at 1.7 fl oz costs $26.50 USD. The product supplied in the set is 1 fl oz.

The Gin-zing nourishing eye cream smells absolutely incredible and reminds me mostly of the orange cream popcicles we all remember as a kid. This eye cream is just thick enough to feel like you are moisturizing your under eye area. Sold separately the Gin-zing Eye Cream costs $30.00 USD at 0.5oz. The one you get in the Best of Both Worlds set is 0.17 fl oz.

Overall, I absolutely love this set. Because one product alone costs 41.00 USD when sold separately, I give this product a 10 out of 10. All of these products smell incredible and nothing has irritated my skin. I have seem such an improvement in my skin since using these products. This Origins Set would be the perfect gift for any family member, a girlfriend, or mother. I would definitely repurchase this again! Let me know below what other Origin products you love below!

My Daily Struggle

So over the past few days I have been M.I.A from both my blog and my new Beauty Instagram account, samanthdavisbeauty...

Since I can remember, I have struggled with migraines. If you've ever had a migraine you know exactly the kind of pain I am referring to. When I get a migraine, I am completely out of commission and in unbearable pain. Today, was one of those days. I woke up at 8:30am from a pounding in my head. I couldn't even see to get to the bathroom. After getting sick all morning, I was bed stricken from 10:00am til 8:30pm. I am just now starting to feel some relief. I have taken medicines all my life, gone to doctors...specialist. I've been on more medications than I can count.  Nothing ever, ever works.

I have taken it upon myself to do a little more research online. I found today that many foods contain a natural compound called Tyramine. So with a little help from my mom, we have come to the conclusion that I will go on a low tyramine diet to experiment with how it affects my migraines. What led us to the idea that Tyramine might be the cause of my horrible migraines was the fact that I, for lack of a better word, LOVE cheese. I eat cheese on everything; eggs, noodles, by itself, on crackers, bread... you get my drift. And guess what one of the WORST foods for people who cannot tolerate high levels of Tyramine is??? You guessed it, Cheese.

So, it all starts tomorrow. The fun of depriving myself of my all time favorite food. IF this works, it will be so worth it. There are few things that I can think of that are worst than a migraine. Let me know below if you had any experiences with migraines and what works for you. I could definitely use some help.

I am so sorry from being away for a little while but with prayer and this lifestyle change I should have a fabulous "apartment tour" blogpost coming at you sometime this weekend or early next week. Give me a little slack, my birthday is Sunday. :) Anyways, I hope all of you are in good health and enjoying this beautiful season and Ill talk to you soon!

LORAC Pro Palette Swatches & Review

LORAC Pro Palette- Swatches & Review

Review

I am so excited to bring you guys this product review! I have been using the LORAC Pro Palette for well over two months and I can NOT put this baby down! It is my go-to palette this fall and winter season. Every single color is extremely pigmented, creamy, and for lack of a better word- stunning.

Where can you find it? If you are in the US, you can find this at Sephora, Ulta and any other establishment that sells LORAC products. You can also find this online on Ebay, Amazon, and of course the LORAC website. I got mine for around $42.00 at Ulta. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a palette they can use on a daily basis and for special occasions. Whether your starting out or a professional, you need this! I would repurchase this palette in a heartbeat.

Swatches

Most of the mattes can be found on the top row of the palette.
The first color is WHITE. Just as the name suggests, it is white in color and matte. It can be used to brighten the inner corner of the eye or for a subtle highlight on the brow bone.
Next, we have CREAM. This is a great color to pack all over the lid for an every day look or even to put down as a base to ease the blending process as you put down other eye shadows.
TAUPE acts as a great crease color. As you can tell; it is a warm, brown shade.
LT. PINK is exactly that, light pink. This is a subtle, light pink shade. Similar to the other shades, this one feels like butter!
MAUVE is one of my favorite shades in the entire palette. I love using this for all over the lid and in the crease. It warms up any eye look! Mauve is easy to pair with other colors and blends like a dream.
Next we have, SABLE. Sable is a beautiful brown shade perfect for in the outer portion of the eye or on the lower lash line.
ESPRESSO is an intense, chocolate brown eye shadow. This makes for the perfect warm smokey eye or outer "v" shade.
BLACK is the classic black eye shadow we all need in our collection and intensifies with primer underneath.

I have to say my absolute favorite part of this eye shadow palette is the bottom row.
GOLD- Can we all just stop and admire how beautiful and metallic this gold shadow is? (See below for better picture). No comment necessary!
LT. BRONZE & CHAMPAGNE are perfect for all over the lid and make great every day eye shadows. I can't tell you how many times I have used them since I've had this palette. They are incredibly stunning and are gorgeous when used wet. (See Below for additional pictures).
PEWTER is one of my all time favorite eye shadows. I love a good, brown smokey eye and this one does the trick. It isn't your typical brown eyeshadow. The shimmer in this shade is just enough and the swatch above was done with only one swipe- I think that alone says enough.
Another favorite of mine is GARNET. Perfect for the fall and winter, Garnet is an unbelievable copper shade with a gold sheen. I am in LOVE!
DEEP PURPLE is great for the lower lash line to add a pop of color to any look. It is the perfect color to "smoke out" any eye look.
SLATE is a unique eye shadow that leans to being a duo chrome. This color takes on a whole new look when in different lightening and it amps up any eye look. A must have in my opinion!

Blog Name Change & Why

Hey Beauties!

Most of you have probably already noticed that my blog's name has been changed. My blog is now titled, "Samantha Davis Beauty." I have decided to change the name of my blog for many reasons.

Firstly, I am passionate about makeup and finding great products both high-end and drugstore.

Secondly, over the past couple of years I have relied heavy on online reviews to help me choose which products I want to buy.

Although, I am changing the focus of my blog from photography to makeup, I trust that I will be able to marry both my love of photography with my passion for makeup, skincare, and product reviews.

You can find me on Instagram under my new account: samanthadavisbeauty

Stay tuned... tomorrow I will have a new blogpost coming at you. Be prepared for some crazy pigmented and gorgeous swatches.

Updated and Revamped Beauty Blog

Hey ya'll,

I've revamped the blog with new colors and fonts. I felt like it was lacking that "feminine touch". I am away for Thanksgiving, but I will be returning next week with an exciting blog post.

Hint: An eyeshadow palette with swatches. Which one will it be?

Have a great Thanksgiving and cherish your family members and the moments with them. We are never promised tomorrow.

REVIEW: Bite Beauty 2014 High Pigment Lip Pencil Holiday Set

Bite Beauty 2014 High Pigment Lip Pencil Holiday Set- $25

After hearing so much hype about Bite Beauty, I decided a week or so ago to grab the Bite Beauty's High Pigment Lip Pencil Holiday Set at Sephora. I knew this little baby was limited edition so I had to snag one for myself. Bite Beauty is a company whose lip products are all natural and according to their website; healthy enough to eat. Yes, TO EAT. Now on to the review...
This holiday set features four lip pencils in a red tin with a matte finish. The packaging itself feels of good quality. After opening the tin, you will find a rather large mirror and the four lip pencils. Its the little things that matter in life and that is exactly what Bite did when they decided to place a small piece of tissue paper with their logo on it around the lip pencils. This little beauty will only cost you around $25.00 which is a steal. (Their full sized lip pencils cost $24 each.)

The tin features four 0.05 oz retractable lip pencils in Pomegarante, Sable, Rhubarb, and Winterberry (in order of the pictures below). The Pomegarante pencil is a gorgeous rosey, berry shade. Sable is a peachy nude shade and Rhubarb is also another extremely wearable plum colored shade. Lastly, Winterberry is a stunning bright red shade perfect for the holidays.

All of the pencils wear beautifully. The colors are so vibrant and each pencil is extremely pigmented and creamy. Because these are lip pencils, they apply very smoothly and your able to line your lips with ease. I would recommend these to anyone new to wearing lip sticks or anyone looking to try out Bite Beauty. You will not be disappointed with this holiday set. Every color is perfect for this fall/winter! If you are having trouble purchasing this product try Ebay or Amazon and grab it while you can because it is limited edition.

TIPS: I would highly recommend exfoliating your lips before applying these to avoid any possibility of them clinging to dry, patchy skin. Another great tip, make sure that you moisturize your lips before applying any lipstick. :)

Thank you for reading my review and let me know if you have any questions below. All opinions are my own and I was not paid to say any of the information above. I bought this product with my own money and firmly stand by these products!
