Welcome to My Blog!

Hello and Welcome to my new blog! 

     First, I will start out with my name. My name is Samantha, I am 20 years old, and a devoted Christian woman. I was born and raised in Richmond, Va and now temporarily live in Kailua, Hi. As wonderful as living in Hawaii sounds, being a military spouse is not easy for an only child who dearly misses her family and friends. I am proud to say that I am married to a wonderful man and have attended two Universities in the past two years of my life. Many people would describe me as outgoing, fun, entertaining, and happy. I will probably make many references to my very furry-friend or in other words my brother, Chipper Jones. He is a miniature dachshund and is residing back home in Va with my parents as he awaits meeting his sister Bailey. We got Bailey about seven months ago and she is also a miniature dachshund (Pictures to follow).
      So, enough about me for now and more about the blog. This blog will focus on the challenges of life, my ever-changing life as a follower of Christ and my experiences, photographs, and other various topics. I enjoy writing and have the hopes of one day teaching English. I believe that the power of writing is something very special and something that can change lives. I came up with the name "Life Through the Lens and Looking Up" because (number 1) I enjoy taking pictures. Currently, photography is just a hobby but it is something I take pride in and will be sharing pictures with you in the future. In addition, I chose the words "looking up" to conclude the title because I have a very positive outlook on life and have the hopes of this blog reflecting the very positive aspects of life and how believing in God can make a difference.

So please, join me in this journey of experiencing life together. Share your experiences with me as well as I share mine. Just for future reference, as previously stated, I am religious and if that is not typically who you are, I encourage you open your heart to my blog to hear my experiences.
