Our Story
There is no better way to start off this blog series then to tell you about our story. My husband and I met online. Yes, online. Not like Match.com or anything like that, but a less serious, more historical one. (A little too embarrassed to mention it here.)
Jeremy was a United States Marine and I was a Senior in high school. I never was looking for "love" when we started talking. I had just gone through a terrible break up not too long before we began our friendship. We dated, if talking over the phone and Skyping counts, for a little over a year before he decided to come see me in my home state. At the time, he was living in Hawaii so he had quite the hike to make it to the east coast. It was blistering hot outside since it was in the middle of July when he arrived.
The first time we had ever met was in the airport. I can honestly say at the exact moment he embraced me for the first time, I felt like the happiest girl in the world. I knew without a doubt he was the one I wanted to spend forever with. He spent a couple weeks with me until he had to return to duty. Before he left to go back to Hawaii, he proposed and asked me to be his wife on the beaches of North Carolina during a mini 3 day vacation we had together.
We both married in May 2012 at a little church nearby my childhood home. It was just what I wanted. The day after we wed, we flew back to Hawaii where I would spend the next 2 years of my life. It was extremely hard being away from family and loved ones, but we made it work and he honorably separated from the Marines shortly after. Now, we are both students at a University on the east coast and are looking forward to our future.
Jeremy is the man I always knew he'd be. I have complete confidence that he loves me unconditionally. He is a true Man of God and possesses every quality I'd want in a husband. You will be hearing more about him and our story. Throughout this blog series, you will get tips and tricks on how to enhance your marriage and/or relationships. I am no doctor, but I can only hope that my stories and ideas will help others!
